Anchored in Mythologies

Greece. We had made several trips in the little ferry boat to the Ancient Ruins in Delos. Scouting out where to shoot in the hot late afternoon sun. So having decided where and when we simply waited for the tourist hoards to plod their way up the various worn pathways and leave us with an empty vista, just a few stray cats sunning themselves. You can feel the history in the air here . Its magical , no other word for it. Loaded film into the Nikon F5’s, slung the D850 over my shoulder and began to shoot. My daughter Loulou understands where I’m at with all of this and without prompting leans into a five thousand year old column with piercing sultry gaze. I don’d need to shoot much, a few frames. It’s done. Just being there together was everything. Later back in Mykonos we ate drank wine at Nikos Taverna and thanked the gods for our good fortune.
